A very clean, and well-kept library which serves perfect for anyone who is looking to do research, group collaborations, or for those simply looking for a spot to read! There are different floors, some from which cater to specific needs such as children, non-fiction and autobiographies, as well as study spaces for students. Most days are not so busy, however on the weekends more children and students alike come to study or read. The staff here are excellent and always willing to help those looking for assistance. Some of the events held here are also very fun for children and adults alike!
The library does, however, provide several tables that are the perfect height to slam into your knee caps as you scoot in. Finally, be sure to bring your own lamp to have a well lit work space since the lighting at this library is not strong enough for activities such as, well, reading.
They are the best customer service and have a immense amount of books, cds and videos!
This library is one of the best around, and I would recommend it to anybody!
Do not recommend for those preparing for exams, etc. or anyone in general who likes quiet places to work.

If you're looking for a quiet place to study, this is not the place. If you're searching for a noiseless area to do your work, this is not the place. If you're hoping to read a book with some continuous silence, guess what? Yup, still not the place.
Forget that the library doesn't provide any silent areas, half the people that frequent the building definitely don't give a damn about keeping their voices or media volume to a minimum level. Definitely should be renamed to Des Plaines Kids Public Library since that's essentially what it's catered to. Even the "teen rooms" are off limits during the mornings and afternoons, even though they are NOT being utilized!
